Shipping, Backorder & Return Policies

Shipping Policies

All in-stock orders ship within 3-5 days of receipt; generally sooner. Delivery times to your address vary based on your location. All orders are shipped with a US Postal Service Delivery Confirmation or UPS tracking number. That number is emailed to you the day the item ships. (US Postal service delivery confirmation not available on international orders.)

Backorders and Out of Stock Items

Occasionally because of a sudden increase in sales, shipment delay or discontinuation by suppliers, we are unable to ship ordered products. In order to prevent undue delays on delivery of the balance of orders it is our policy to ship all available products immediately and place the unavailable item on backorder (if not discontinued). For those orders shipped incomplete, 1) you will not be charged for the backordered item until it ships, and 2) the backordered item will be shipped free of charge. If you do not wish to receive a partial order, please make sure to write the words "Ship Complete" in the comments box. If we are unable to ship an item because it is no longer available and you do not wish to take delivery on the remainder of the order, please write "Cancel if any item unavailable" in the comments box.

Shipping Methods:

Priority Mail - Regular domestic and Canadian surface shipping via the U.S. Postal Service. While ground shipping delivery dates are not guaranteed, most domestic orders arrive 3 to 7 days from date of shipment. Canadian orders arrive in 8 to 21 days. For small orders - those less than $4 - we usually ship U.S. First Class instead of Priority Mail because it actually saves you a couple of dollars and still arrives in the same amount of time. Regardless of how the item is shipped, you will receive a USPS Delivery Confirmation which may be tracked through the USPS Website.

Global Priority - Flat Rate Envelope - International shipping via the U.S. Postal service. The Flat Rate charge is $9.00 US (convert it to your own currency here) for delivery to any international destination. The flat rate envelope will hold approximately 6 yards of fabric or table linens. (Hard goods such as candles, soaps, etc. cannot be shipped in a flat rate envelope without being crushed in transit. Please select Airmail Parcel Post instead.)

Airmail Parcel Post - Standard international airmail parcel delivery through the Postal Service. While delivery dates are not guaranteed, most shipments arrive within 14 to 28 days from the date of shipment. As this shipping method requires the parcel to transfer among multiple Postal Services, insurance is recommended.

Economy (Surface) Parcel Post - Standard international surface shipping and delivery through the Postal Service. While delivery dates are not guaranteed, most shipments arrive within 30 to 90 days from the date of shipment. As this shipping method requires the parcel to transfer among multiple Postal Services and private transit carriers, insurance is recommended.

UPS Ground - Regular surface shipping via United Parcel Service. While ground shipping delivery dates are not guaranteed, most domestic orders arrive 3 to 8 days from date of shipment depending on your distance from San Diego, California. For Canadian orders, please allow 10 to 14 days.

UPS 2-Day - For all orders placed before 1 p.m. Pacific Time (4 p.m. Eastern), orders with 2-Day shipping will arrive the afternoon of the second business day following the day the order was placed. Orders placed after 1 p.m. will arrive on the third business day after the order was placed.

UPS 3-Day - For all orders placed before 1 p.m. Pacific Time (4 p.m. Eastern), orders with 3-Day shipping will arrive the afternoon of the third business day following the day the order was placed. Orders placed after 1 p.m. will arrive on the fourth business day after the order was placed.

UPS Next Day - For all orders placed before 1 p.m. Pacific Time (4 p.m. Eastern), orders with Next Day shipping will arrive the afternoon of the next business day following the day the order was placed. Orders placed after 1 p.m. will arrive on the second business day after the order was placed.

UPS WorldWide Express - For all orders placed before 1 p.m. (13:00) Pacific Time (4 p.m. Eastern), orders UPS WordWide Express shipping will arrive by 3 p.m. (15:00) one to two business days following the day the order was placed (generally one day for South America, Europe, Western Asia and Africa; two days for Australia and East Asia/Pacific Rim). Orders placed after 1 p.m. will arrive two to three business days after the order was placed.

Exchange and Return Policy

We want you to be pleased with your purchase. As such, we're happy to accept exchanges or returns of unopened and unused products for a full refund of the purchase price. Here is our return policy:

Returns must be made within 30 days of the shipment date.

Returned items must unused and in original packaging -- Yes, we know this sounds obvious, but you wouldn't believe the condition of items some people attempt to return (food stains, rips, burn marks -- yes burn marks -- and so on).

Cut fabrics cannot be returned -- Please make sure that you're ordering the correct fabric, or the correct amount of fabric. Once it's cut from the bolt, it can't be returned.

Holiday and seasonal items are not returnable after the holiday -- If you order holiday linens or seasonal items and they turn out to be not quite right for your needs, please make sure to contact us to return the item before the holiday passes.

Refused orders -- If an order is placed and then refused by recipient upon delivery, the recipient will be charged for the cost of return shipping.

Returned items must be shipped at customer expense and shipping charges are non-refundable -- Please properly insured your return against damage. If items aren't properly insured and are damaged or lost in transit, we cannot grant a refund. (Basically you want to make sure that if the delivery driver is having a bad day and decides to roll the his or her truck off a bridge, the shipping company -- not you or us -- pays for the loss.)

Return of an order that received Free Shipping will have the original shipping costs deducted from the refunded amount if the return is made for any reason other damage in delivery or and error in the shipment on our part.

Please contact us before sending the return back. - Returns without authorization cannot be accepted. (Nothing is worse for our shipping people than to receive a return out of the blue. It's almost impossible to tell whether it was sent to the wrong address, if it's a return or merely an exchange, or any number of other reasons that shipments come back.)
