A Special Note About The Victims of Hurricane Katrina
No doubt you are aware of the horrific toll Hurricane Katrina has taken on residents of the Gulf Coast. Many of us have family and friends who live there and have suffered a great loss. To those of you affected by this disaster, our thoughts and prayers go out to you.
Sadly, many unscrupulous companies are using this as an occassion to profit. These organizations are trying to appeal to your natural generosity with promotions that tout how they will donate a portion of the money they make from you to the hurricane victims. We find the use of human suffering as a marketing ploy to be morally reprehensible.
Rather than letting less than scrupulous companies profit from your desire to help, we urge you to do what we do — contribute directly to the organizations who are helping those in need. Every dollar you give directly to the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, or other worthy aid group, will help feed, clothe, a provide shelter for the people who really need it.
